Everyone who runs this festival is a volunteer. The artists are the only ones who get paid.
Founded by English music critic Robert Turnbull, En Blanc Et Noir has brought award‑winning international pianists to Lagrasse for over a decade — recording artists, performers and seasoned professionals alongside rising talent, entirely free, entirely open. Local authorities and the Robert Turnbull Piano Foundation help, but individual donors and members remain our main resource.
For over a decade, En Blanc Et Noir has built a family between the artists and the audience, in the old streets of Lagrasse.
The history of the festival
